Who was John Anderson ?
As far we know he was born in Rothes, Morayshire, Scotland around 1741.  John was the earliest Blacksmith from our family. John married Jean Mellies and had ten children:

JOHN ANDERSON {Blacksmith/Smallholder } was born 8 March 1803 in Rothes, and died 2 February 1878. He married (1) CHRISTINA MACKAY 20 December 1825 in Barony. He married (2) . JANE RIACH, daughter of WILLIAM RIACH and ANN GRANT. JANE died 12 August 1884.

ALEXANDER ANDERSON {Blacksmith/Smallholder}  was born 1830 in Rothes, and died 29 February 1916 in of heart decay. He married ANNE BREMMER 13 June 1856.  She was born 13 July 1830 in Rothes, and died 29 May 1909 in of heart failure.

ROBERT ANDERSON {Law Clerk S.S.C.}  was born Abt. 1856. He married ROBINA REID on 26 July 1881 in St. Nicholas, Aberdeen; daughter of JAMES REID and MARGARET GIBB. ROBINA diedD in childbirth. ROBERT'S second marriage was to ELIZABETH MANNERS THOMSON 22 July 1886 in Corstorphine Edinburgh. ELIZABETH was born 20 November 1861, and she died 15 June 1912 of Heart Failure.

Dorothy married Leslie Henry Sinclair and rumored to have died in child birth in Australia.

SYDNEY ALEXANDER ANDERSON {Barrister/ Traffic Manager}  was born 20 January 1888 in Newington Edinburgh, and died 12 October 1948. He married ELIZABETH ANN DAISY PUGSLEY 22 March 1913, daughter of JOHN HENRY PUGSLEY. She died 18 August 1967.
